We find that in the larger narrative of Luke’s Gospel, Jesus strives to overcome nationalistic stigmas and stereotypes. Solidifying the work of Amos who sought mercy for the poor, Jesus lifts up those who are thought of as less than others - a path of redemption.

The Gospel encourages us to take up the mantle set before us and head with courage and steadfast faith while our eyes and hearts remain resolutely fixed upon our Lord.

God speaks to us in the unexpected ways, even in the silence.
